Email in the Physics department
Introduction
All email for the Physics department is provided by Nexus365, the University’s instance of the cloud-based Microsoft Office 365 service, providing email, calendaring and access to a number of other Office 365 applications. Nexus365 is a central service provided to Oxford University by IT Services Nexus365
Nexus365 requires the use of a new multi-factor authentication system (MFA) to access services associated with your account.
Accessing email
Nexus365 is cloud-based, so email can be accessed via a web browser as well as using a dedicated email client application.
To ensure full compatibility with Nexus365, we recommend using Microsoft Outlook where available. Microsoft Outlook is pre-installed on all Windows and Mac systems provided by the physics department and is also available from the app stores on Android and iOS devices.
Other email clients that support the Exchange Web Services (EWS), IMAP4 or ActiveSync protocols can also be used but may not support all features provided by the Nexus365 system such as delegated access to shared mailboxes.
