N.B. Our version of WinTeX only works fully with MikTeX 2.4 and does not work with Windows 7.

Texworks (which is included in MikTeX 2.8 and later) replaces WinTeX for Windows 7 and later.

Screen editor for Windows which is aware of the TeX/LaTeX command structure.

WinTeX is normally already installed on the standard, maintained Physics Windows XP systems.

WinTeX may only be used on University-owned systems.

You may obtain WinTeX kits from \\LOCALKITS.physics.ox.ac.uk\OxKits_WinTeX\ on the Physics Network System using the instructions for obtaining kits.

A WinTeX licence is needed and requires authentication with your Physics-wide network account.
