Background

Particle accelerators are everywhere and their uses are very diverse: from the brain-bending theory behind the weirder kinds of particles which might be found at the LHC, through the physics and chemistry of materials, biology, engineering and archaeology studied at facilities worldwide, to the medical and industrial applications in which particle accelerators are used every day, there’s a lot to keep up with.

These resources hopefully give an introduction to the relevant physics we hope to convey with the show. Combined with your own expertise—and the fact that it’s OK not to know the answer to every audience question!—this should arm you with (or remind you of!) most of the knowledge you’ll need for Accelerate!.
