Key Stage 3 Physics in action day: Magnetism
Students: Schools are invited to bring up to 3 teams of 5 students at Key Stage 3
Cost: Free
Students will complete a series of activities and technological challenges, all of which are designed to explore magnetism. Activities include investigating field lines, electromagnets and superconductors.

Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis
The Oxford Climate Research Network and Oxford Martin Programme on Resource Stewardship present a series of talks for students, staff and members of the public, and an opportunity to ask questions, about the latest Assessment of Working Group 1 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) with contributions from members of the the Department of Physics.

A (second) evening for home educated children and their parents
Due to the popularity of the first event we are opening our doors again. Come along and view the night sky with our 0.4 metre telescope and find out more about the research we do in the Department.
Please be aware that access to the observatory is difficult and the department should be notified at the earliest opportunity of any visitors with mobility problems.

These are our main open days. We will offer sample lectures, admissions talks, demonstrations, tours of the department and the chance to speak to current tutors and students.

An evening for home educated children and their parents
Come along and view the night sky with our 0.4 metre telescope and find out more about the research we do in the Department.
Whilst it is lovely to have a good clear night, we have significant experience in hosting visits and will ensure that everyone is informed and entertained regardless of the weather.

Explore the 'Physics in Rowing' at the Department of Physics.

Student Richard Passmore wins scholarship from UK Space Agency and ESA
Richard Passmore, a current student within Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at The University of Oxford, has won a prestigious scholarship to attend summer camp at the International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Program (SSP13).
