Weather and Cllimate Poster Competition (from Year 5 to Year 9)

Each year the Department of Physics invites school students to create an A3 poster to promote an area within physics. The subject of this year’s competition is weather and climate. This competition can be completed at home or in school.

Solving physics problems (BPhO event)

A one-day workshop on solving physics problems on Saturday 18th June 2016. The day will cover extending able students in class through providing extension classes to help them explore their interest in physics. Teachers with experience in stretching students in physics will be present to offer advice, suggestions, ideas and answer questions.

This event is sponsored by the British Physics Olympiad which is supported by the University of Oxford. Staff from the Department of Physics will also be at the event to talk about admissions.

Oxford Physics, St John's College and British Physics Olympiad invite school physics teachers to attend the first Oxford Physics Teachers Conference.

The event provides the opportunity to find out about advances in cutting edge physics and provides guidance and resources on helping your students to develop advanced problem solving skills in physics. Example physics problems will be explored along with simple demonstrations that are designed to challenge students into new ways of thinking.
