Professor B S Chandrasekhar (Walther Meissner Institute, Bavarian Academy of Arts and Sciences) is an Oxford Physics Alumnus and Rhodes Scholar, and will talk to us about Low temperature Physics and physicists Six Decades Ago. He finished his D.Phil at the Clarendon in 1952.

Bonn University Particle Physics Show
The Bonn University Particle Physics Show visits Oxford! The show takes you into the heart of the LHC and brings the Higgs boson to life. The action-packed presentation has many exciting demonstrations and more than a dash humour.
The show is prepared and performed by the Bonn University physics students under the direction of Professor Herbi Dreiner whose previous shows have won a number of awards, including the High Energy Physics Outreach Prize of the European Physical Society.

The Oxford Doctoral Training Partnership in Environmental Research
The Minister for Universities and Science, David Willetts, yesterday announced that the University of Oxford was one of 15 Universities to be awarded part of £100m of new NERC investment in Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs).
The Department of Physics is one of the core departments of the Oxford DTP in Environmental Research, offering a novel training environment across three broad science streams, including a Physical Climate Science stream of high relevance for Physics undergraduates considering graduate research in Climate Physics.
