The Triumphal Palmyra Arch in Florence, Italy.

Dr Alexy Karenowska, a member of the Condensed Matter Physics group, through her work in Oxford’s Institute for Digital Technology (IDA) is in Florence, Italy, for the unveiling of the replica of the Palmyra Arch. To learn more about IDA’s work, click here.
The arch will be on display until the last week of April.

Last week, Dr Sam Vinko gave a wonderful talk to Physics Alumni & Guests at the Oxford & Cambridge Club.
His talk was titled: "From stars to proteins: unveiling material response in intense X-ray fields” and guests' feedback has been fantastic.
This yearly event is always very popular and is really nice to meet new people every time.

AOPP Alumni Event - 'Climate change in the run-up to the Paris conference: what has Physics got to say?'

Prof David Marshall, Prof Tim Palmer CBE FRS, Prof Laure Zanna, Prof Myles Allen and Prof Raymond Pierrehumbert, some of the current faculty in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics in Oxford engaged in the research that underpins the whole debate over climate change, hosted a fantastic event at The Royal Society, London, last November.
