Very successful first online alumni event

'The Idea of Particle Physics'

Our first alumni event online took place on the 20th of June, with more than 300 registrants from all over the world. It was fantastic to be able to connect with so many of you in this way across the miles.

First Alumni Event in Edinburgh

First Alumni Event in Edinburgh

On July 2nd we hosted our first ever Physics Alumni Event in Scotland. It was a wonderful occasion at the New Club, in Princes Street, overlooking the Castle.
As you can see in the photos, we had great weather and more than 30 guests gathered to meet Prof Ian Shipsey, Head of Physics, and Prof Achillefs Kapanidis (guest speaker), over drinks and delicious canapes.

The Inaugural Brebis Bleaney Memorial Lecture

The Inaugural Brebis Bleaney Memorial Lecture 'Electron Paramagnetic Resonance: Past, Present and Future'
by Prof Mark Newton took place last February 22nd, here in the Martin Wood Complex.

This wonderful occasion will now be an annual lecture commemorating Professor Brebis Bleaney (1915-2006) and was endowed by Bleaney's pupil Professor Michael Baker (1930-2017).
