Password
Your Physics department account is used to log you into centrally managed services in the department such as desktop systems, network services and web based applications. When you arrive in the department, the details of your account and password will have been sent to the admin staff based in your sub-department so you should contact them to get started. The username will usually be your surname but if someone else already has that account name some letters from your first name may be added to the end.

The University and Departmental policy on passwords is that they should be a minimum of 16 characters in length with a mix of upper and lower case letters as well as either numbers or special characters. The down side to this is that such passwords can be hard to remember but we have some advice to help you overcome this. We recommend using 4 or more random words such as CalibrateDoorCloudVenture and then add numbers or special characters E.G. CalibrateDoorCloudVenture!7.
