Full Open Days - Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th July 2011
2011 Programme Update:
- Physics Lectures at 11:00 and 15:00 on Wednesday and Thursday
- Physics and Philosophy Lecture at 14:00 on Wednesday ONLY
- Admissions Talks at 12:15 and 16:15 on Wednesday and Thursday
These are our main open days. We will offer sample lectures, admissions talks, demonstrations, tours of the department and the chance to speak to current tutors and students.

Physics Department annual newsletter now available
Oxford Physics has produced the first edition of an annual newsletter, aiming to describe the wide range of work that we do in front-line research, teaching, public outreach and school education. We would welcome contributions to future newsletters from undergraduate or postgraduate alumni and previous members of the physics department.
Oxfordshire Secondary Schools Science Festival 2011

The University will be organising a free Maths & Science Teachers’ event, held at the National Science Learning Centre (NSLC) between 9:30am and 4:30pm on Thursday 23rd June. We are delivering this free conference with the following aims:

This is the second APPEAL teachers’ conference exploring High Energy Physics and Accelerator Science. This year we focus on the links with Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

SEPnet GCSE Taster Day
Format: Hands-on exhibits and demonstration lecture
Topic: Energy
Year group: Year 9
Where: Clarendon Building, Department of Physics, University of Oxford
A half-day session with fun hands-on demonstrations exploring Energy. The taster event is followed by a series of workshops delivered in participating schools.
