Fellowships & Job Opportunities

There are various externally funded fellowship schemes that exist to allow the development of research proposed by the applicant. We welcome and encourage researchers wishing to explore this type of opportunity, provided they contact an appropriate member of the sub-department (e.g., in his or her research area) or the Head of Sub-department well before the closing date. Examples of such schemes include:

  • Glasstone Fellowship apply here before 18-Oct-20
    Applications are invited for the Glasstone Research Fellowship in Science, tenable at the University of Oxford, in the fields of chemistry (inorganic, organic or physical), engineering, mathematics (including computer science and statistics), materials, physics, and plant sciences. The Glasstone Research Fellowships are supported by the Glasstone Bequest. Two fellowships are to be awarded from 1 October 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
  • Royal Society University Research Fellowships (deadline usually October/November) and Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowships (February)
  • Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Research Fellowships (February)
  • EPSRC and STFC Fellowships
  • Marie Curie Fellowships

US nationals should note the Royal Society USA Research Fellowships which sponsor scientific collaboration between centres of excellence in the US and UK.
