Oxford Centre for High Energy Density Science (OxCHEDS)

Group Leaders:

The Oxford Centre For High Energy Density Science (OxCHEDS) brings together groups from across Atomic and Laser physics with an interest in the study of matter under extreme conditions. These studies typically employ high power lasers to generate extreme fields, which in turn modify the properties of various media of interest.
The centre is composed of five academics and their groups, as well as our national partners, particularly at AWE, as well as international collaborations.
More information on the research currently carried out at the centre can be found in the Research Themes section.
