Isaac Physics Year 12 Problem Solving Event

Date:
21 Jun 2017 - 9:30am to 1:00pm
Venue:
Magdalen College School, Oxford
Audience:
Schools (secondary)

The Ogden Trust Oxford Partnership have teamed up with Isaac Physics and the University of Oxford Physics Department to offer an exciting end of term experience which aims to stretch and challenge Year 12 Physics students. We aim to help students improve their problem solving skills within a scientific context, a key requirement for students who wish to study STEM subjects at university.

Students will be placed in small groups, mentored by an Oxford Physics graduate student, and presented with Isaac Physics Maths and Physics Challenge Boards, uniquely designed for this event. Challenge Boards are a series of questions, accessible online, that will enable students to work at different speeds and to varying difficulties.

What to expect and enjoy:

  • Student Maths and Physics Challenge Sessions
  • A short talk on applying for STEM subjects at university
  • Mentoring by Oxford Physics Graduates

We anticipate a busy, challenging morning but hopefully a fun time for all!
