Why did you choose to study Physics at university?

Enjoy Maths, but I wanted to see it applied to the real world.

What is the best thing about studying Physics at Oxford?

At the start of the week I feel like I know nothing about the topic, but after tutorials, lectures and hard work by the end of the week I feel like I understand it.

What do you find the most challenging aspect of studying Physics at Oxford?

QThe tutorial sheets are really challenging, even after reading, but after tutorials I feel I understand them.

How do you feel about the tutorials at Oxford?

Challenging but come out understanding a lot more than when I came in- if mentally exhausted.

How do you feel about the practical labs at Oxford?

Good link to theory and plenty of help from demonstrators. Enjoying coding (new topic).


What topic in physics do you find the most interesting and why?

Quantum- not something covered at school but all the maths we learn is put into practice to prove the weird behaviour at quantum level.

What topic in physics do you find the most challenging and why?

Circuits- little prior experience but enjoying the challenge of electronic labs.


What are your hobbies/interests outside of your course?

Debating, circuit training and volunteering to teach maths in local schools.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I don’t know but I hope that strong Mathematic skills allow many paths.


What advice would you give to someone who is interested in applying to study Physics at Oxford?

Look into how maths can be applied to physics -differential equations. Read physics popular science books.
