BA Third Year Projects

Thinking of changing from the MPhys to the BA? Click here.

The third year BA project is centered around a real industrial problem. We work with collaborating companies who offer a physics problem for our students to work on, with support from an industrial mentor and an academic supervisor. The students work in teams to solve the problem, prepare a group presentation and then produce an individual write up. Students are assessed both on their group work, at the presentation event, and on the individual report. Information on writing the report can be found here.

The aim of this project is, broadly, to improve the employability skills of our students, who learn how their physics is used in an industrial context, and gain experience of team working. The Oxford BA industrial project programme is run by Prof Moritz Riede with administrative support from Hannah Glanville.
