The 2020 'Preparing for the PAT' course will run with in-person days in Oxford on Saturday 27th June and Saturday 10th October. Registration will open in Spring 2020.

Audience

This course is for year 12 students from state-funded schools, academies and colleges with little or no history of successful applications to the University of Oxford who are interested in applying to study Physics, Physics and Philosophy, Engineering or Materials Science. It is intended for students who are thinking of sitting the Oxford Physics Admissions Test in 2020.

This year the Oxford Physics Masterclass will be on Saturday 18th April 2020.
Registration will open on 3rd February.

The Oxford Physics Masterclass aims to:

  • Increase students’ interest in pursuing physics at university.
  • Raise awareness of application requirements and undergraduate courses at Oxford Physics.
  • Enable students to develop problem-solving skills and confidence which are essential for making competitive applications to Oxford Physics.

Hear from two enterprising and successful women, who have helped form spin-out companies from Oxford Physics research, sharing their personal journeys into entrepreneurship and advice for students and researchers.

Ilana Wisby (CEO of Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC)) gained a PhD in quantum physics, after which she entered the world of start-ups and is now leading an Oxford University spin-out company, creating the core of the quantum revolution.
