Violette & Samuel Glasstone Research Fellowships in Science

The Glasstone Research Fellowships in Science are supported by the Glasstone Bequest and are awarded to early career researchers in memory of Professor Samuel Glasstone and his first wife, Violette.

There are two posts available. The terms of the bequest restrict the fellowships to Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Materials, Mathematics, Physics, Plant Sciences and Statistics.

Glasstone Fellows are expected to carry out their programme of original research in one of the eligible fields specified above and may undertake teaching of up to a maximum of six hours a week. Applicants should have completed their doctorate by the time of taking up the Fellowship. They should show aptitude for original research and have a publication record in scholarly journals in keeping with their experience and field of study.

Typically, the closing date for Fellowship applications is in November, for awards to start in the following October.
