Jobs, fellowships and graduate study
Graduate study
Around October each year we usually advertise a number of DPhil projects on the University's astrophysics graduate admissions pages. Those pages also explain the application procedure. We welcome informal enquiries from prospective students: contact James Binney or John Magorrian.
Recent DPhil theses
Here are some of the theses from our group that are available from the University's research archive:
- Ralf Donner, Numerical methods of resonant dynamics for the Galaxy (2005)
- Andy Eyre, On the dynamics of tidal streams in the Milky Way galaxy (2010)
- Francesco Fermani, Modelling the Milky Way stellar halo (2013)
- Jason Sanders, Dynamics of the Milky Way: tidal streams and extended distribution functions for the galactic disc (2014)
- Mattia Sormani, Understanding the large-scale dynamics of the interstellar medium in barred galaxies (2015)
