Rupert receiving the Winton prize, in New College, from David Carrier and William Shaw of Winton Capital. Rupert Allison, D.Phil student in Astrophysics, has been awarded the Winton Prize, for his D.Phil work on statistical data analysis of large cosmological datasets, as well as statistical analysis methods with broader applications. In particular he has focused on understanding the dark sector of the Universe: Dark Energy and neutrino physics. He has taken the lead in the joint analysis of datasets from experiments that probe the evolution of dark matter over cosmic time. He is a central analysis team member of the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT), measuring the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB).
