Hintze Fellow in Radio Transients

I am a post doctoral researcher studying transient radio sources, such as stellar-mass black holes and neutron stars in X-ray binaries, cataclysmic variables, Gamma Ray bursts and ultra-luminous X-ray sources. I use many different radio telescopes, including the newly commissioned MeerKAT interferometer as part of the ThunderKAT large survey programme on radio transients (http://www.thunderkat.uct.ac.za/), the Arcminute Microkelvin Interferometer (AMI) and e-MERLIN. I am currently the scheduler for the AMI telescope Large Array and the Post doctoral Outreach liaison for the Astrophysics group.
