Hi! My research has focused on creating and manipulating entangled states of trapped ion qubits. During my PhD at the Ion Storage Group at NIST, Boulder, we developed new techniques of entangling ions without lasers. I then joined the networking experiment in the Oxford Ion Trap Group, where we can generate entanglement between ions in two separate traps. Recently, we used this system to demonstrate the first quantum network of entangled optical atomic clocks. I was awarded an EPSRC Quantum Technologies Early Career Fellowship for further quantum-enhanced metrology experiments using this network. I am also an Early Career Fellow at Balliol College.
I am very interested in outreach activities that can help make Quantum Technologies more accessible to disadvantaged students. For example, I have participated in work placements through In2scienceUK and the Oxford summer school. Please contact me if you are interested in our work or have any ideas for other outreach opportunities.
