PDRA

(Please note that Barat Kurbanjan is my name in my native language (Uyghur), Balati Kuerbanjiang is its Chinese pronunciation which I had to use in my passport. Uyghur/minority names are not allowed to be used in passports in China).

I am a postdoctoral research associate in the Thin Film Quantum Materials group. Currently I work on the Skyrmion Project. My main tasks for this project are: 1. growing thin films by MBE; 2. Characterization and analysis of the thin films, mainly by x-ray based techniques at synchrotron beam-lines. I work between the Clarendon Laboratory and RCaH (Oxford MBE Group) at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) site.

I graduated with a Dr.-Ing. degree in Materials from Ulm University in Germany. Before coming to Oxford, I was a PDRA at the University of York, UK.
