Ross Herbert

Post Doctoral Research Assistant

Ross joined the department in September 2019 and is working with Philip Stier on the RECAP project working to constrain aerosol effects on precipitation with the use of high resolution modelling.

Before starting at Oxford Ross worked with Nicolas Bellouin and Ellie Highwood at the University of Reading focusing on the role of absorbing aerosol on the climate system. On the CLARIFY project Ross used the Met Office large eddy simulation model (LEM) to investigate the sensitivity of marine stratocumulus to the properties of elevated layers of smoke, and on the SWAAMI project Ross used the Reading intermediate GCM to investigate the impact of present and future emissions of absorbing aerosol on the Asian Monsoon system.
