My role spans the Post-award/Grants team, project managers, contracts and the interface with the Research Facilitation Team. In post since January 2020, I am the first port of call for any issues or questions relating to any of these areas.
I manage the Grants Team, via the Research Grants Manager, as well as a team of project managers. We ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations, award policies and funder terms and conditions. My special interest lies in the support of PIs who wish to enter into new or ongoing contractual relationships with companies, and I work closely with our Innovation and Enterprise Manager, the University central contracts team, and our Senior Development Executive.
I was Acting Head of Research Facilitation between December 2018 and December 2019. During this period, I was also seconded for part of my time to the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG), overseeing the REF 2021 return as part of UoA 5. I joined DPAG in 2013 from King's College London where I was Research Development Manager in the Natural Sciences Faculty. Before that, I was Research Facilitator in the Oxford Department of Computer Science for over 4 years, having switched over from academic administration at LMH.
I am a physicist (Diplom, University of Heidelberg) and hold a PhD (Dr.rer.nat.) from the Technical University (TU) Munich.
