Hannah Dalgleish

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am an interdisciplinary researcher in astronomy, especially excited about topics where society intersects with astronomy (from science communication to dark sky tourism to light pollution). I enjoy communicating to diverse audiences in a variety of ways, on astronomy and other topics like science communication, science policy and historical and cultural astronomy. I'm a passionate advocate for equity, diversity & inclusion in STEM, and you'll often find me coordinating events (locally and globally).

You can find my personal website at www.hannahsdalgleish.com or my blog at www.astrophysicsgirl.com which has a lot of information on funded opportunities in astrophysics.

I'm currently working with Garret Cotter in collaboration with Michael Backes and Eli Kasai at the University of Namibia. The work involves implementing astrotourism and astronomy education as a means for socio-economic development in Namibia, and collaborating with various stakeholders such as the tourism industry and tourism ministers. This project has been funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).
