I am a DPhil student in the Planetary Data Analysis group, coming towards my fourth year. My supervisor is Prof. Patrick Irwin.

I am currently performing radiative transfer analysis of multiple sets of ground-based spectra of Jupiter and Saturn in the visible to near-infrared, in order to retrieve vertical profiles of cloud and ammonia abundance, as well as to characterise the absorption spectra of colour-carrying compounds ('chromophores') in their atmospheres. The aim of this analysis is to identify the composition and origin of giant planet chromophore, as well as the origin of temporal and cyclical changes in the visible appearance of Jupiter's atmosphere. These observations are made in support of the Juno mission, relating observed changes at Jupiter's cloud tops with gas abundances in the deep troposphere retrieved by the MWR instrument, hence building a clearer picture of Jovian atmospheric processes.
