Colourful ‘solar glass’ means entire buildings can generate clean power
Cleantech investment specialists MTI Partners has announced the completion of a £2 million investment round in Oxford Photovoltaics Limited (OPV), an Oxford University spin-out Materials/Cleantech company commercializing solid-state dye sensitized solar cells for the Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) sector.
Oxford Climate Research Network Day
On Tuesday 26 February at 2pm in the Sheldonian there will be an open afternoon to showcase the diversity of climate research in Oxford, and give a flavour of the opportunities for research and collaboration across departments. Open to all, including undergraduates thinking about climate research; graduates, post-docs and faculty, to learn about what is going on in other departments; and interested members of the public. This event is organised by the Oxford Climate Research Network (http://www.climate.ox.ac.uk).

ARTHUR H COOKE MEMORIAL PRIZE 2012
Condensed Matter Physics is delighted to announce that Anne Plochowietz, first year research student, has been awarded the Arthur H Cooke Memorial Prize 2012 for distinguished work by a first year research student.

Hamburg/Paris/Oxford Workshop on Astroparticle Physics with Multiple Messengers
This is the third in a series of workshops on astro-particle physics with multiple messengers and the first to take place in Oxford.
It includes a series of lectures on the topic at the post-graduate level given by members of the collaboration. These lectures are open to all interested.
Presentations of their current research will also be given by PhD students of the collaboration. These, however take place behind closed doors.

DAVID RYAN PRIZE 2012
Condensed Matter Physics is delighted to announce that Miss Katherine Dunn, second year postgraduate student, has been awarded the David Ryan Prize 2012 for the best research presentation by a postgraduate student in their second year at the annual poster session.
