Lectures by Lord Cherwell

Frederick Lindemann (Lord Cherwell)

'You might be interested to know that I am old enough to have gone to lectures by Lord Cherwell. He got round to the topic of his lectures by the third week, by which time most of the class had deserted him, but he reminisced about his early life, and the advice his father gave him, around the turn of the 20th century. "Don't study physics, my boy; they have found everything of importance, and now they are just filling in the details". Luckily he ignored the advice'.
