Fellowships
The following is a list of fellowships & deadlines from the 2010/11 recruiting cycle. Many of the closing dates and eligibility criteria will be similar in 2011/12. We will update this list as and when the information for the 2011/12 process becomes available.
For any application, prior approval must be sought from the Head of Astrophysics
This section is in the process of being updated. Below are fellowships that we advertised last year and we expect the deadlines to be similar. We are waiting for further details and will publish them when received in the interim we thought that last years fellowshhip process may be of interest and help you in planning for this year.
STFC Public Engagement Fellowships 2012
For researchers with good communication skills who have demonstrated a track record in public engagement with research or communication work. Applications are invited from STFC funded researchers and users of STFC facilities. Fellowship holders would have a proportion of their time bought out to enable them to concentrate on new or additional activities which would have significant national or regional impact.
The Closing date for applications is 1st March 2012 at 16:00

Glasstone Fellowship
Astrophysics deadline: Monday 28 November 2011
Anyone interested in applying for the Glasstone Fellowships must first contact Roger Davies by email (rld [at] astro [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk) cc Vanessa Ferraro-Wood (vfw [at] astro [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk) and Yunley Oakley (y [dot] oakley1 [at] physics [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk) before the deadline of 28 November 2011. Please use subject heading "Glasstone Fellowships" and also indicate in your email the name of your sponsor (if known).

Electronic Submissions
Please supply an electronic copy of your entire application to y [dot] oakley1 [at] physics [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk at least 10 working days before the funding body deadline. Alternatively please allow read/write access to your application. For STFC Fellowships please refer to the Astrophysics deadline below. After the internal selection procedure (if any) applications will be processed accordingly to include any financial figures. University approval for the application will also be sought for on behalf of the applicant. Once the internal procedures have been completed, applications may be submitted electronically to the funding body.
Paper Submissions
Please supply one paper copy of your entire application to the address below at least 10 working days before the funding body deadline. Once University approval has been given for an application, the appropriate number of copies will be made and posted to the funding body on behalf of the applicant.
