Poster Printing


Our Poster printing service is open to all Oxford University departments, also to individuals and outside organisations.

Posters are printed on HP Premimum 260 gsm satin paper - using our HP Z6100 and HP Z6200 Posterjet printers with the vivid enduring colours of the Vivera pigment inks producing uncompromising image quality with exceptional fade resistance.

Fabric posters are printed onto a light durable crease and wrinkle resistant polyester material which can be packed in your suitcase with minimal creasing. If needed the fabric can be lightly ironed on the reverse side.

This lightweight photo fabric has a water and fire resistant matte surface that produces exceptional resolution and true colors.

General poster printing information

Common sizes are:

  • A0 (1189x841mm)
  • A1 (841x594mm)
  • A2 (594x420mm)

The maximum poster size is 1060mm wide and a length of up to 2000mm - longer lengths can be printed if no trimming is required.

We accept popular file formats such as: PowerPoint, PDF, Tiff, Jpeg and Photoshop and can be submitted via email, Oxfile https://oxfile.ox.ac.uk/oxfile/ or in person.

Please note: Posters are normally sent straight to the printer, so no changes can usually be made once submitted.

Important information on submitting Powerpoint files

To ensure compatibility, please include the following information: Operating System (Mac or Windows) and the Microsoft Office version (for Windows: 2003, 2007 or 2010 and for Mac: 2004, 2008 or 2011).

When saving from the Windows Office 2007, 2010 and Mac 2008, 2011 versions, please use the default .PPTX format - do not save in compatibility mode or as a .PPT

Lamination

Lamination is recommended for posters which are being transported or may be used several times (Maximum size for lamination is 950mm x 2000mm).

The turnaround time for laminated posters is 3 - 5 working days.
