Wolf Rittershofer

Dhil candiate in Atomic and Laser Physics

Wolf Rittershofer did his undergraduate degree at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. He spent most of the one year research period of the degree at the Lawrence Berkeley Lab, California, where he worked on the analytical description of laser driven plasma wake fields in tapering plasma channels supervised by Carl Schroeder, Eric Esarey and Florian Gruener. After graduating in May 2009 as a Diploma Physicist he returned to Berkeley to conduct further research funded by a studentship from UC, Berkeley. In October 2009 he came to Oxford to start reading for a DPhil in Atomic and Laser physics supervised by Simon Hooker.

He is currently working on plasma mirrors used for injection of laser pulses into a plasma structure and betatron radiation of laser driven electron bunches.
